Vice President Commercial Finance

Tony Charland brings more than 15 years of commercial financing experience to iQ Commercial, joining the firm as Vice President of Finance with a focus on advising developers, owners, and investors across New Brunswick and PEI.

Over his career, Tony has originated and structured more than $250 Million in commercial financing, supporting clients with acquisitions, construction lending, refinancing strategies, and long-term portfolio planning. His background includes senior commercial banking roles with Desjardins, CIBC, and UNI Financial, where he advised a wide range of business owners and real estate operators on capital structuring and strategic growth.

Outside of finance, Tony also demonstrated strong leadership during his three years as General Manager of Laird Plastics – Moncton, overseeing operations, people management, and business development for one of North America’s largest plastics distribution networks. This chapter of his career provides him with a practical operator’s viewpoint—understanding how financing decisions connect directly to execution on the ground. That balance of advisory experience and operational insight aligns well with iQ’s client-first, strategy-driven model. At iQ, Tony plays a key advisory role in helping clients evaluate opportunities, structure financing, and execute plans to expand their commercial and multi-residential portfolios across the region.

Tony holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Université de Moncton and remains actively involved in the Atlantic business community.
